How to Make a Poncho
This is probably the easiest poncho you'll ever make that you'll actually wear more than once. It's made from a thick woven wool that I found at JoAnn's fabric about a month ago in a graphic herringbone print. I knew I wanted to make a poncho as soon as I saw it but it wasn't until I saw a vintage poncho on Etsy that I realized how I'd be able to do it best. All you need to be able to do to sew your own is cut and sew in straight lines. Easy!
Some twenty years ago a poncho was just a rectangle with a hole for the head. However, in this season the designers offer various models, materials and shapes. Because of that, any self-respecting fashionista should have this stylish item in her wardrobe. Also, the designers offer many varieties of cuts and collars, pockets, hoods, clasps, arm-cuts, varieties of length, cut and materials. All this can help to choose the model which will be ideal for you specifically.

A poncho is a great accessory to wear on a winter’s day and even better it is really easy to sew as it is formed from one square of fabric.

Pattern Pants Women — Pants Pattern Alterations
Very interesting article “Last week in class I tried on the muslin made from the pants sloper, which was drafted up from my measurements. I think it's worth repeating my professor's words of warning: even a sloper drafted to your measurements isn't going to be perfect right off the bat, because the way those numbers are distributed is different on every person. Depending on whether you carry your weight in the front, side, or back, a 40-inch hip measurement could mean several very different things. One's legs could be 25 inches long, but the angle at which they come out of your hip, the amount of padding on one's inner thigh, and even the way one typically stands can all make a standard draft look terrible, even if it's based on actual body measurements. Still, that said, my muslin looked pretty good for a first try -- definitely better than all the vintage 60s pants patterns I've tried in the past! We all had to take turns changing into our muslins and standing on the tabletops and our professor walked around telling our group members what to pin and cut into to get the fit right. What helped a lot for seeing where to make alterations was having the grainline, high hip, low hip, knee, and calf lines basted in. That way, we could see where things weren't hanging plumb or perfectly parallel to the floor all the way around.”

How to make pocket purse pattern tutorial
This is fantastic! I am going to sew one.
I love making pocket books, but over the years I have forgotten how to put in a zipper so avoid patterns with them at all costs. See these precious bags, you make me want to try to do it again. This are adorable and just the perfect size.
Useful Purse-Making Tools & Materials
There are many fabrics out there which can make for a confusing choice, I would definitely recommend cotton or linen first. Nothing too thin or flimsy, unless you are doing to add interfacing to stiffen it, or batting to bulk it up. Quilt weight cotton is most common. Home decor and upholstery fabrics are often used too as they're quite sturdy and durable. Other fabrics you can use are leather (or faux leather), vinyl, canvas, silk, wool, calico or denim. Purses are hardly ever made with stretch fabric so don't make life difficult for yourself by choosing a stretchy material! - For linings, a thinner material than the outside is used and it is often smooth and slippery such as polyester or nylon. Cotton is also a popular choice, especially if you want the lining to be patterned. Fabrics made specifically for lining will be labelled as such, and if it's polyester then try and go for an anti-static option. - There are various fastenings and closures you can use for purses, with the most common being zippers, button flaps, velcro and magnetic snaps. How to Sew a Zipper Pocket Purse

Sewing-scarf with roses
Infinity scarf, this time made from thrift store finds, then cut into strips and the tied together.
This could be a no-sew project, although for this scarf, I did do a little hand sewing to add a little stitched interest. Fabric flowers.
